Excelsior Ladies' Keep Fit
This group, which has been running for over 2 years, provides exercise to music for women aged 50 and over.
There are two qualified instructors, Joan Garrod and Doreen Doye, who take alternate classes.
The exercises are not aerobic, but exercise all the major joint and muscle groups and are primarily designed to keep people fit and supple.
Due attention is paid to people with particular health problems, such as arthritis, and new members are asked to check with their doctor before joining.
The classes run all the year round, except for a short break in the summer, and as well as the keep-fit classes, we also organise lunches for members and friends at local hostelries every few months, including at Christmas, and there is an annual trip to France, lasting 5-6 days.
Where do we meet?
At The Hollies, Loddon High Street.
When do we meet?
Every Friday afternoon.
Classes start at 1.30 (so people are asked to arrive a little before that) and the exercise lasts for one hour.
After that, we sit and have a cup of tea and a natter!
How much does it cost?
Each session costs £2.50, payable on attendance.
New members are given three weeks to see whether they like it (they always do!) and after that, are asked to pay a one-off five pound members' fee.
How do I join?
Either just turn up, or ring Joan Garrod on Loddon 520428.
