The Loddon Singers

The Loddon Singers were formed in 1989 and we have around 40 members of varying ages from 30 upwards.

This year marks our 21st anniversary

We are a mixed ability group who ask only that our members have a love of singing and a willingness to learn and improve./p>

We do not have auditions for new members but naturally expect some musical knowledge and an ability to sing in tune!

We normally sing four part harmonies: Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass, but often include Unison pieces in order to vary a programme.

Our repertoire is very wide: from Stainer's Crucifixion and Handel's Messiah to Andrew Lloyd Webber and Abba via Calypso Christmas and English Folk Songs.

Some of our members also form a choir for hymn singing and similar religious pieces at major church services and events such as Christmas Carol concerts and Easter services.

As well as singing purely for pleasure, we usually have summer and Christmas shows and also sing at weddings and outside events by invitation.

We meet on Friday evenings at St John's in George Lane, Loddon at 7.30pm throughout the year except for January, July and August.

Care to join us? - You can be assured of a warm welcome.
